Going Red Instead for April

For those of you who don’t know, April is Autism Awareness/Acceptance month. Most people use blue – a color associated with Autism Speaks – to represent Autism Awareness.

However, most people in the Autistic community prefer #redinstead. Why? Because Autism Speaks isn’t the charity it claims to be. Instead, it promotes ideologies that go against what the autistic community promotes – like autism needing a cure, or sympathizing with parents of autistic children instead autistic people themselves.

Therefore, Shadoweye Fiction will be going #redinstead for the month of April, in support of the Autistic community.
